Government Relations Committee Meeting

The SIA Government Relations Committee advises SIA members regarding legislation, regulations and other pending government actions affecting the security industry and makes recommendations for related actions.

Architectural Graphics Working Group Meeting

The Architectural Graphics Working Group focuses on the revision of AG-01 Architectural Graphics and CAD Symbols for the Security System Standard.

Security Industry Standards Council (SISC) Meeting

The SISC is the Balanced Consensus body that votes on proposed standards that are being considered from the following ANSI-Accredited standards development organizations: SIA and The Monitoring Association.

Utilities Advisory Board Meeting

SIA’s Utilities Advisory Board demonstrates thought leadership on compliance and technology topics of interest to professionals managing security at a wide spectrum of utility facilities.

Audio and Intelligent Communications Subcommittee Meeting

The mission of the Audio and Intelligence Communications Subcommittee is to educate the industry to the importance of audio and communications and aid in growing this technology segment by providing business insights into the importance of audio for safety and security applications. 

Objective: Develop a legal supplement for audio recording laws and state map and an update to the 2021 published primer on audio

Cybersecurity Advisory Board Meeting

The Cybersecurity Advisory Board is a board-appointed group of industry cybersecurity experts whose mission is to guide SIA members ahead of potential cybersecurity issues related to electronic physical security measures.

International Relations Committee Meeting

The SIA International Relations Committee works to internationally represent and advocate for SIA members in the security industry.

Standards Committee Meeting

The SIA Standards Committee serves as the guiding body of SIA standards programs and develops, promotes and advocates industry standards in a coordinated effort with other standards and specification writing bodies.

Objectives: Receive updates regarding the development of OSDP 2.2.1 and observe live demonstrations on PIV implementations using OSDP and dialogue from OSDP Technical subcommittee members on the future of the standard

Member Engagement & Experience Committee Meeting

The SIA Member Engagement and Experience Committee creates and evaluates initiatives that increase member participation within SIA and guide the development of member engagement strategies.

Objectives: Shape Security 2040 project, define new member onboarding priorities and identify new engagement opportunities for SIA members

Video and Vision Subcommittee Meeting

The SIA Video and Vision Subcommittee reviews, develops, promotes and advocates for the adoption of relevant industrywide standards relating to video. 

Objectives: Review existing video image quality standards for updates, develop a white paper on various video streaming and develop state/national video retention requirements

Partner Alliance for Safer Schools (PASS) School Security Forum

If you’re passionate about school security, join the Partner Alliance for Safer Schools (PASS) for an open meeting on K-12 school security.

Objectives: Offer a state of school security update, share news on PASS’ efforts to improve school safety and security and introduce what’s new in the latest version of the PASS School Safety and Security Guidelines for K-12 Schools

Perimeter Security Roundtable

Open to all ISC West 2023 badge holders, the SIA Learning and Development Forum brings a wide variety of industry professionals and learning enthusiasts together to discuss current education and training programs and professional development opportunities.

Objectives: Discuss current employee onboarding and professional development programs and practices and share insights on learning and development initiatives that support various roles within the security industry

Autonomous Solutions Working Group Meeting

SIA’s Autonomous Solutions Working Group brings together members of the security industry, end users, technology experts and other interested parties to promote best practices regarding the use of robots in security, develop research, offer guidance on legislative and regulatory matters and enhance communication and collaboration.
