- SIA’s Women in Security Forum (WISF) community has announced the 2024 CAN DO Challenge, a seven-week charitable initiative taking place Oct. 14 – Dec. 3, including at ISC East, to encourage professionals and companies across the security industry to combat food insecurity during the holiday season. - SIA has named eight recipients for the 2024 SIA Women in Security Forum (WISF) Scholarship – a program developed by WISF to further educational opportunities and promote advancement for the widest spectrum of people possible in the security industry. Meet the honorees here!
- On Oct. 29, 2024, SIA sent a letter signed by 92 security businesses and organizations conveying a strong, industrywide message to Capitol Hill urging members of Congress to weigh in with the Federal Communications Commission on a proposal that would restructure the Lower 900 MHz frequency. - SIA has released version 2.2.2 of SIA Open Supervised Device Protocol (OSDP), an access control communications standard developed by SIA to improve interoperability among access control and security products.
