SIA’s Women in Security Forum (WISF) community has announced the 2024 CAN DO Challenge, a seven-week charitable initiative taking place Oct. 14 – Dec. 3, including at ISC East, to encourage professionals and companies across the security industry to combat food insecurity during the holiday season. SIA has named eight recipients for the 2024 SIA Women in Security Forum (WISF) Scholarship – a program developed by WISF to further educational opportunities and promote advancement for the widest spectrum of people possible in the security industry. Meet the honorees here!

On Oct. 29, 2024, SIA sent a letter signed by 92 security businesses and organizations conveying a strong, industrywide message to Capitol Hill urging members of Congress to weigh in with the Federal Communications Commission on a proposal that would restructure the Lower 900 MHz frequency. SIA has released version 2.2.2 of SIA Open Supervised Device Protocol (OSDP), an access control communications standard developed by SIA to improve interoperability among access control and security products.
