Learning and Development Committee
The SIA Learning and Development Committee (formerly the Education and Training Committee) builds a qualified security workforce by identifying and creating learning, training and career development opportunities for security professionals. Its offerings include instructor-led training, online education, scholarship programs, educational conferences and forums and instructional materials and resources.
Accomplishments
- Delivers SIA’s Security Project Management (SPM) training programs as both public and private course offerings
- Develops and manages e-learning programs and custom online education for security professionals
- Created the online, on-demand GrantED course to educate industry professionals on how to leverage federally funded grant opportunities
- Established the Denis R. Hébert Identity Management Scholarship program to promote continuing education and facilitate advancement in the fields of identity management and access control
- Developed the SIAcademy eLearning Course Catalog, a living library of on-demand training
