woodcraft, and volunteering at my church. I find that backpacking is the perfect combination of deep reflection, expressing gratitude, and pushing my body to the limit. I love when I finally summit a peak, or finish a long day and can feel the reward of hard work in my body. I can reflect on my accomplishment and celebrate it while surrounded by creation. I like to build cigar humidors and other small pieces of furniture. I find it mentally refreshing to focus my mind on one thing, a single cut, an intricate carving, or the perfect shine when finishing. It is a needed change of pace from that fast paced world of corporate security. At church I lead a men's Bible study. This is a wonderful opportunity to give back. There is nothing more rewarding than joining another man on his spiritual journey. For many, this is the most important part of their life and it is a privilege to share in the journey and practice servant leadership.

I'm also a passionate traveler, aiming to visit a new place each year. In my downtime, you’ll find me gardening, caring for house plants, or diving into a good book. I believe in giving back to my community and I’ve been on the board of Portland Workforce Alliance, a local nonprofit organization focused on providing high school students with real-life work experiences and career-learning opportunities for over 10 years.

Most of my weekends are spent shuttling between football and soccer games in the ultimate mom car, fully stocked with snacks, sporting gear, and lawn chairs. I also enjoy reading and listening to motivational audiobooks or podcasts whenever I can carve out some quiet time. Traveling is another passion of mine, and I’ve been lucky enough to explore amazing destinations like the Bahamas, Ireland, Mexico, Portugal, and more.

travel and stay plenty busy with after school and weekend activities. Beyond family I am a sports enthusiast, I try to play as much golf as possible (but with 3 kids under 7, that doesn't mean a lot). To keep my mind right I practice Yoga and picked up a bit of a puzzle addiction during Covid.

When I’m reading, I generally have three to five books that I am reading at the same time. I try to make sure I am not reading two books at the same time by the same author as those tend to run together while I can keep the stories of different authors separate! I read most genres except horror. The best books are ones with plot twists you do not see coming and fiction that weaves history into the story. Now, crafting is my main hobby. I make jewelry, candles and soaps, cross-stitch, sewing projects – each project is personalized and created with care. Finally, quilting is my biggest hobby. You can imagine the focus and concentration it takes to cut fabric and sew it together correctly. Taking different fabrics of different colors and designs to create a quilt is quite satisfying. These 3 hobbies all require focus, which helps me to quiet my mind, and I love how problem solving naturally starts to occur in the background. It’s amazing the security problems I’ve solved over a quilt block!

A big part of my time outside of work is dedicated to my family. My wife and our two kids aged 8 and 6. Family outings, youth sports, or just hanging out at home brings me a lot of joy. Outside of family time, I'm big into golf (indoor and outdoor) and working out regularly. Trying new restaurants is another passion my wife and I share. We love exploring new spots and appreciating great food. More recently, I've gotten really into AI and how it can be applied practically in business. I also run a side venture called Stage One GTM, a go-to-market consulting practice focused on helping companies build scalable sales infrastructure. I'd be remiss not to mention I'm an avid sports fan. My favorite teams are the Pittsburgh Steelers in the NFL and Ohio State in both football and basketball.
