SIA Cybersecurity Awareness Month

SIA Encourages Members to Strengthen Cybersecurity Posture During Cybersecurity Awareness Month

The Security Industry Association’s (SIA’s) capstone of Cybersecurity Awareness Month 2021 will occur Thursday, Oct. 28, when the Cybersecurity Advisory Board convenes SIA’s first Cybersecurity Town Hall Meeting. During this event, which will take place during Securing New Ground (SNG), join us for an open, honest and wide-ranging discussion of current cybersecurity topics. You’ll hear from these expert speakers:

  • Min Kyriannis, CEO, Amyna Systems (Moderator)
  • Mathieu Chevalier, principal security architect and manager, Genetec
  • John Deskurakis, chief product security officer, Carrier
  • Wayne Dorris, cybersecurity business development manager, Axis Communications

Our panelists will take questions from SIA members and the industry that result in new, specific and actionable steps companies should adopt as part of corporate cyber strategies and offer as advice to customers and partners.

This town hall will be available live for all attendees of Securing New Ground, and a recording of the discussion will be shared online following the event. Register to attend SNG here. If you’d like to get your cybersecurity questions answered by our expert speakers, send them in advance of the town hall to Cameron Walker-Miller at cmiller@securityindustry.org.

Whether your company is a manufacturer, security solutions developer, systems integrator or firm providing services to the security industry, you will likely face challenges and questions related to cybersecurity and privacy. Just like with physical security, real cybersecurity is achieved through diligent efforts from people to create and execute on processes. Cybersecurity Awareness Month, observed each October, is a collaborative effort to bring awareness to the challenges of cybersecurity and to ensure that every individual stays safe and secure online. This year, specific themes for the month include general cyber hygiene, fighting phishing attacks and scams, cybersecurity career awareness and making cybersecurity a business priority.

SIA is dedicated to responsible connectivity and has created a variety of services to meet your needs. Here, explore our virtual library of educational content, resources and best practices related to breaches and cybersecurity.
