2024 SIA Board of Directors Nominations Now Open

Security Industry Association (SIA)

The Security Industry Association (SIA) Nominations Committee welcomes nominations of individuals to serve on the SIA Board of Directors.

Board Eligibility and Term

Any employee of a SIA regular member company in good standing may apply to be considered by the SIA Nominations Committee. The Nominations Committee will present candidates for consideration to the SIA membership on April 9, 2024, at The Advance, SIA’s annual membership meeting held during ISC West. Each nominee approved by the SIA membership will serve an initial two-year term before becoming eligible for nomination for a second two-year term.

Board Member Roles and Responsibilities

The SIA Board of Directors is a strategic body that exercises oversight of the organization and implementation of the Strategic Framework. Board responsibilities include:

  • Staying up to date on and actively supporting SIA initiatives, programs and goals. Directors shall also use their networks of influence to contribute to the further development of the association based on current needs and priorities.
  • Performing board duties that are considered to be in the best interests of the members and SIA.
  • Participating in long- and short-range planning, exercising appropriate fiscal and budget oversight and evaluating the overall performance of SIA.

Criteria

Regular members who have served on standing committees, special committees or advisory boards are given strong consideration. Candidates for SIA Board of Directors seats shall demonstrate a passion for the industry, good judgment, and the ability to see different perspectives and be models of leadership for all security industry stakeholders. The SIA Nominations Committee follows a competency-based criteria for identifying potential candidates from diverse backgrounds and encourages individuals with expertise in finance, AI and international programs to apply.

Each interested individual shall submit a letter of application describing their relevant expertise via email to Don Erickson at derickson@securityindustry.org. The deadline for application is Jan. 31, 2024.
