DALLAS, Texas –  The Foundation for Advancing Security Talent (FAST) has opened the call for nominations for the inaugural FAST Security Technician of the Year Awards, an initiative recognizing security technicians who have demonstrated excellence, premier customer service and leadership within their organizations. Honorees selected in this year’s award program will be recognized Nov. 15 at ISC East.

Security technicians are a vital part of the security industry, helping to design, install and maintain critical technologies and systems in our communities every day. Their efforts to install and service security systems are foundational to the safety of the places in which we work and live and to our nation’s homeland security. FAST has created this award program to honor the noteworthy achievements, dedication and leadership of security technicians.

“At FAST, we are thrilled to introduce our new Security Technician of the Year Awards to recognize the folks in field who keep our industry sound and functioning. We would not be the strong industry we are today without their hard work and dedication,” said FAST Board of Directors Chair Kerri Sutherland. “We anticipate a great deal of nominations, and we are eager to celebrate the winners!”

Award nominations are open to members of the Security Industry Association (SIA) and the Electronic Security Association (ESA). Each nominee must have at least one year of professional experience in the security industry. Nominees will be evaluated on criteria including their tenure of service to the security industry, significant projects and events, character and culture, customer service and broader impact to their company industry and/or community.

The 2023 FAST Security Technician of the Year Awards will be presented Nov. 15 at ISC East, the Northeast’s leading security and public safety event hosted in collaboration with premier sponsor SIA.

Nominations for the 2023 FAST Security Technician of the Year Awards will be accepted until Friday, Aug. 11. Learn more and submit a nomination here.
