The Intrusion Subcommittee maintains and promotes standards dealing with residential and commercial intrusion panels and communication between protected premises and monitoring stations. This subcommittee serves as the primary editor of CP-01 and the SIA DC family of standards.

The SIA Intrusion Standards Subcommittee received four requests for interpretation, regarding the CP-01 and DC-09 standards. Here are the subcommittee’s responses:
Requests for Interpretation
- Regarding: DC-09 5.5.1.2 CRC Question: Can the CRC value in the DC-09 message be transmitted in two bytes? Committee Answer: NO
- Regarding: CP-01 4.2.2.6 Recent Closing Question: Are the Entry Exit zone types to be excluded from Recent Closing functionality? Committee Answer: NO
- Regarding: CP-01 4.2.2.6 Recent Closing (Issue 2)
- Question 1: Is it the trigger of Entry/Exit zones that needs to happen within 2 mins for the Recent Close event to appear? Committee Answer: NO
- Question 2: Is it the alarm (post-entry time expiry) of Entry/Exit zones that needs to happen within 2 mins for the Recent Close event to appear? Committee Answer: YES
- Regarding: CP-01 Regarding 4.4.3 Restoration of Power Question: Can the retention of panel arming state for fourteen (14) days as required in paragraph 4.4.3 (Restoration of Power) be tested independently from the testing described in verification procedure 28? Committee Answer: YES
