The Advance – SIA’s Annual Membership Meeting

Join us for The Advance, the fastest 60 minutes of your day!

Data Privacy Advisory Board Meeting

SIA’s Data Privacy Advisory Board provides information and best practices to help SIA members handle sensitive data in a safe and secure manner to protect the personally identifiable information of their employees, partners and customers from potential breaches.

Government Relations Committee Meeting

The SIA Government Relations Committee helps identify and advise SIA members regarding legislation, regulations and other policy trends or pending government actions affecting the security industry and makes high-level recommendations for related actions.

Objectives/Discussion Items: Briefing and discussion on policy developments that need industry attention, as well as SIA advocacy efforts at the state and federal levels

Artificial Intelligence (AI) Advisory Board Meeting

SIA’s AI Advisory Board has a mission to engage regulators on emerging AI issues and provide recommendations, guide development of definitions and standardizations of AI behavior in the security industry, drive the adoption AI solutions balanced within a defined risk management framework and promote the ethical AI application for equitable outcomes.

Intrusion Subcommittee Meeting

The SIA Intrusion Subcommittee maintains and promotes standards dealing with residential and commercial intrusion panels and communication between protected premises and monitoring stations.

Standards Committee Meeting

The SIA Standards Committee serves as the guiding body of SIA standards programs. Its members work together to develop, promote and advocate industry standards in a coordinated effort with other standards and specification writing bodies.

Built Environment Advisory Board Meeting

SIA’s Built Environment Advisory Board (formerly the SIA Proptech Advisory Board) was created to foster engagement between the proptech community and the global security industry through partnerships, education and thought leadership.

Architectural Graphics Working Group Meeting

The SIA Architectural Graphics Working Group focuses on the revision of AG-01 Architectural Graphics and CAD Symbols for the Security System Standard. 

Objectives/Discussion Items: Introduce industry partners to ways they can contribute to AG-01s update; planning and assignments for the effort to update AG-01

Counter-UAS Working Group Meeting

The SIA Counter-UAS Working Group was created to actively support the work needed to accomplish the recommendations of the Biden administration’s Domestic Counter-UAS National Action Plan and further educate and give authorities options to mitigate uncrewed aircraft system (UAS) attacks. 

Objectives/Discussion Items: Update on the status of federal legislation expanding authorities to use counter-UAS technologies; discussion on further collaboration/advocacy efforts by industry

Member Engagement and Experience Committee Meeting

The mission of the SIA Member Engagement and Experience Committee is to create and evaluate initiatives that increase member participation within SIA and guide the development of member engagement strategies.

Objectives/Discussion Items: Discuss new SIA member onboarding, the SIA Endowment Project, the 2024 SIA Member Satisfaction Survey, Member Accelerated Performance (MAP program), the mySIA app, SIA member briefings and member testimonial videos

Audio and Intelligent Communications Subcommittee Meeting

The mission of the SIA Audio & Intelligent Communications Subcommittee is to educate the industry to the importance of audio and communications and aid in growing this technology segment by providing business insights into the importance of audio for safety and security applications.

Partner Alliance for Safer Schools (PASS) School Security Town Hall

If you’re passionate about school security, join the Partner Alliance for Safer Schools (PASS) for an open meeting on K-12 school security.

Objectives/Discussion Items: This town hall will provide updates on PASS’ efforts to increase the safety and security of K-12 schools. As part of recognizing the 10-year anniversary of PASS, the organization celebrates the incredible contributions of PASS’ volunteers and advisors, and welcomes anyone interested in future contributions to PASS’ mission.

Video and Vision Subcommittee

Open Supervised Device Protocol (OSDP) Technical Subcommittee

The SIA OSDP Technical Subcommittee is made up of access control manufacturers, integrators and end users implementing OSDP whose responsibilities include acting as the primary editors of the OSDP standard, coordinating and reviewing research projects related to OSDP, providing technical guidance on issues related to OSDP and more.

Objectives/Discussion Items: OSDP development updates; working group synchronization; plans for ISC East event
